Steve Bennett has over thirty years of corporate banking experience. Prior to co-founding Compendium Partners, LLC, Steve served as a Sr. Vice President in charge of Loan Syndications for the Specialty Finance Group, LLC (“SFG”), a subsidiary of Silverton Bank. SFG was a full service lending platform that specialized in the hospitality industry and originated over $2.1 billion of hotel construction loans for leading hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Starwood and Intercontinental. Steve and his team syndicated nearly $1 billion of those loans to over 200 community banks in the form of loan participations.
Before joining SFG, Steve spent ten years as a Vice President and Business Development Officer in the large corporate lending divisions of KBC Bank (a large Belgian Bank) and Wachovia Bank. He focused on a variety of industries and worked with many well known Fortune 500 companies such as Ryder, EDS and Dean Foods.
Steve began his banking career with The First National Bank of Chicago where he spent eight years in their healthcare group. His focus was on equipment lending for healthcare systems across the United States. He also worked in First Chicago’s Capital Markets Group as a healthcare bond specialist. His responsibilities included the structuring of tax exempt healthcare bonds which required a Series 7 certification.
Steve is originally from Mississippi and obtained his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University. He holds an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. Steve has been married for 28 years to Emily and has two children.
Tony Gannacone has over 20 years of investment banking, debt structuring and trading, and family office experience. Prior to Compendium Partners, Tony served as the director of Capital Advisors for Franklin Street Capital Advisory real estate firm where his focus was business development, financing real estate transactions, and structuring debt and equity for firm clients.
Prior to (FS) Tony spent 6 years as a co-founder in a Kentucky commodity based company that was aligned with a large family office in the Mid-Atlantic; as a managing principal in this venture Tony led a team in trading, hedging, sales, and acquisitions / dispositions and contract negotiations with some of the largest steel and energy companies in the world.
Earlier in his career Tony was an interest rates trader and institutional salesman for Société General bank in Chicago. His duties would include analyzing US and foreign rate markets and deploying proprietary capital and hedging strategies for firm clients. Those institutional clients included firms such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Barclays Bank, Fannie Mae, and many hedge funds that had rate positions and hedges in the US Treasury market; yearly trading and sales volumes exceeded $5 billion on average. Prior to Société General bank Tony was a corporate and municipal bond trader for Legg Mason Wood Walker in Baltimore Maryland focusing on the trading of corporate and municipal bonds for firm clients and funds.
Tony has an economics degree from the University of Maryland College Park and held the Series 7 license as well as multiple other securities licenses. Tony has been married for 15 years to his wife Felicia, has 3 children and lives in Boca Raton, Florida where he coaches lacrosse and enjoys fishing.
